Schedule

Below are the dates and times for each school’s ceremony. The ceremonies listed below include undergraduate, graduate and professional students unless otherwise indicated. Some schools had to separate undergraduate and graduate events due to time limitations. More details regarding arrival times, safety protocols, guest tickets, etc. will be sent in the coming weeks. Congratulations on all you have accomplished to get to this point. In addition to the University Commencement Ceremony, graduates are invited to the ceremony of the school awarding their degree. It is at these graduation ceremonies that graduate's names are called, and they walk across the stage. These ceremonies will be in Yulman Stadium in the days preceding virtual Unified Commencement – May 19-21, 2021. Each graduating student will be allotted four guest tickets. Tickets are non-transferable. The School of Medicine ceremony will also hold a separate in-person ceremony.

Ticketing

All graduating students will be allotted four guest tickets to in-person commencement ceremonies in Yulman Stadium. Students who have applied to graduate will be sent a survey, which will be open May 7-14, to confirm attendance and participation for in-person commencement events. Mobile tickets will be issued starting May 17 directly to graduating students via the Athletics ticketing system. Students MUST confirm attendance via the survey by May 14 in order to receive guest tickets. All guests (including children) MUST have a ticket to enter the events at Yulman Stadium.

School of Medicine graduates participating in that ceremony will be issued tickets separately by the School of Medicine.

More information, including information about where to enter, arrival times, parking, etc. will be published on this site as details are confirmed.

 

Arrival

  • Doors open for all ceremonies 45 minutes before the start time of the ceremony.
     
  • Parking will be available for graduates and guests in Diboll Garage.
     
  • Rideshare, Taxi and ADA Drop Off will be on Ben Weiner Drive at Game Day Plaza. Ben Weiner will be one way from Claiborne to Janet Yulman Way. Please note that rideshare availability in New Orleans has drastically decreased over the past year. Plan your transportation ahead of time to avoid delays.
     
  • Graduates will enter through Flower Way (between Turchin Stadium and the Wilson Center).
     
  • Guests will enter through Gate B. All guests, including children, MUST have a mobile ticket to enter. No re-entry allowed.
     
  • Security will conduct bag checks for all students and guests upon entry to the stadium. Prohibited items in Yulman Stadium include: alcohol; artificial noise makers; backpacks, book bags, knapsacks; banners (large or in poor taste); contraband; containers of any kind, thermos bottle, bottles and cans; coolers; fireworks; flammables; footballs or throwing objects; glass; large bags – maximum size 12” x 12”; laser pointers; outside food and beverages; projectiles; stadium seatback chairs with aluminum/metal; stickers; sticks, bats, poles, clubs, flags or banners with poles; strollers – (umbrella strollers that will collapse and be placed under guest seat are permitted); weapons, even with concealed weapons permit; unmanned Aircraft Systems (Drones); or any other item(s) deemed unacceptable by stadium security and Tulane University.

Departure

Graduates and their guests will be encouraged to exit after the graduate’s name is called and the graduate crosses the stage. All graduates and guests will be directed to Gates B & C to exit the stadium. Brown Field will be the meet up point and will include special photo ops for all grads and their guests.

Guests with disabilities and other guests who need accommodations can make a request on this form. Please complete and submit this form 14 days prior to the event date to request disability-related accommodations at a commencement event. 

Planning Guidelines

To comply with state and city requirements, the following guidelines will be followed for each school ceremony:

  • All event protocols regarding masking, distancing and hygiene must be followed
     
  • Each student is allowed four guests – events will be ticketed and guests will be seated together
     
  • All guests are highly encouraged to obtain a vaccine and/or get tested before traveling. If a test is needed while guests are in town, Tulane will provide this service
     
  • There will be no processional – graduates will have assigned seats on the field
     
  • Each event will be no more than 90 minutes in length
     
  • Once a graduate crosses the stage, they – and their guests – are encouraged to exit the stadium, per state and city guidelines
     
  • Following stadium exit, graduates and guests must disperse from the perimeter - with many events scheduled back-to-back, the stadium and parking areas will have to be cleared quickly
     
  • The events will be held rain or shine – although there is some flexibility for adjusting start times of the events, they cannot be rescheduled for a later date
