The 2026 Tulane University Unified Commencement Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 16, at 5 p.m. in the Caesars Superdome. The ceremony is scheduled to conclude by 7 p.m. Tickets are required for all attendees, with guest seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
|
|
|
|
Ticketing for Unified Commencement
|
|
|
|
All graduates and guests must have a ticket to enter the Caesars Superdome. Graduates should have received an email from TUgrad@tulane.edu with the subject line “Register Now for the 2026 Tulane Unified Commencement Ceremony” containing instructions to register and retrieve Unified Commencement tickets via Tassel. Once graduates register, they are able to print tickets and/or send them to guests’ email addresses.

|
- Graduates will receive a separate graduate ticket from their guest tickets.
- Each graduate will receive up to 20 guest tickets.
- Graduates can send all tickets to the same email address(es), but the tickets will arrive in individual emails.
- Guest tickets are general admission, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Graduates can return to their Tassel account at any time by using their registered email address at tassel.com.

|
The following security measures apply to all students, faculty, staff and guests participating in commencement events. Attendees will go through security and bag checks, so please arrive early to allow sufficient time for screening.
The University's Clear Bag Policy will be in effect for Unified Commencement and all other school-based diploma and hooding ceremonies. Approved bags are as follows:

|
|
- Clear totes or bags no larger than 12" x 12" x 6".
- Small, non-clear clutch bags no larger than 4.5" x 6.5".
- Plastic, resealable storage bags no larger than one (1) gallon.
|
|
|
|
The following items are not allowed into any commencement-related event or student line-up areas and will be confiscated: flags, banners, signs of any size or type; alcohol; artificial noisemakers (including drums, thunder sticks or other instruments); any type of bag not permitted by the Clear Bag Policy; contraband; containers of any kind; bottles and cans; coolers; fireworks; flammables; footballs or throwing objects; glass; laser pointers; outside food and beverages; projectiles; stadium seatback chairs with aluminum/metal; stickers; sticks; bats; poles; clubs; strollers (collapsible umbrella strollers that fit under guests' seats are permitted); weapons (even with concealed weapons permit); drones; or any other item(s) deemed unacceptable by stadium security and Tulane University.
Handheld umbrellas, including graduating students' second line umbrellas, are permitted and will be inspected upon arrival.

|
|
Students must wear regalia at all in-person ceremonies to participate and/or cross the stage. Tulane encourages graduates’ personal expressions of creativity in the decoration of mortar boards or second-line umbrellas. Graduates are permitted to wear stoles and honor cords earned through University Honors, official university-recognized organizations, U.S. military service (veterans who attain the prescribed academic achievement earn special cords) or purchased at the Tulane Bookstore. Personal stoles, cords and robe decorating are not permitted.

All graduates participating in the Unified Commencement Ceremony should arrive at Gate G on the Plaza Level in their regalia with their graduate ticket, Tulane Splash Card or government-issued ID and proceed to their robing location in the west side Plaza Level. Graduates must arrive at their seating sections starting at 3 p.m. and no later than 4 p.m.
At 4:40 p.m., graduates will be lined up and begin moving from the designated locations. Any graduate arriving late will not be guaranteed a spot in the lineup as part of the procession of graduates onto the floor and may be inserted into the seating on the floor after the procession has concluded.

All guests 2 years and older must have their own ticket.
|
|
|
| - Gates for guests will open at 3:30 p.m.
- Guest entrances will be located at Gates B and C on the Plaza Level of the Caesars Superdome.

Parking is available for graduates and guests in Garages 2A, 5, 6 and Champions Garage.

There will also be a shuttle on a continuous loop from the Diboll Garage on the uptown campus to the Caesars Superdome Saturday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Guests arriving via taxi or rideshare drop-off should set their destination as the 1500 block of Poydras Street (outside the Superdome on Poydras Street).
- Guest tickets are general admission and seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note, no one other than working staff/volunteers, graduates, faculty and platform party will be allowed in the graduate line up area or on the floor of the Caesars Superdome.

|
- ADA entrance and drop-off will be available at Gate A Ground Level (Poydras side). Superdome staff will be willing and able to assist guests in need of a wheelchair or assistance to their seats.

Guests using the ADA Entrance at Gate A Ground are limited to one person to assist them with entry. They may connect with the rest of their party once inside of the Caesars Superdome.
- ADA parking will be available in the VIP East lot as well as West Gate A Ground, and it is pay-to-park and first come, first served.

Wheelchairs may be requested for transport only and are not available for personal use during the ceremony.
- Accessible seating, including semi-ambulatory options and removable armrests, are available throughout the Caesars Superdome. Group seating cannot be guaranteed, but nearby first-come, first-served seating is often available; early arrival is recommended.

Guests who are able to transfer to a standard seat and bring a walker or wheelchair should note that these mobility devices cannot be kept in aisles or beside seats. Superdome staff will collect and securely store the device nearby during the ceremony. A companion may retrieve it from the designated storage area at the conclusion of the event.

Closed-captioning will be provided on video monitors and on the ceremony livestream.

| Tulane University provides reasonable accommodations in accordance with the ADA and Section 504 with advance notice.

Freedom of Expression and Code of Conduct
|
|
|
|
By participating in commencement exercises, you agree to abide by the Code of Student Conduct and Freedom of Expression Philosophy and Protocols. Tulane University promotes and protects the free exchange of ideas. Freedom of expression includes the ability to engage or not to engage in the exchange, examination, and discussion of ideas or the choice not to engage. It does not include the right to disrupt the freedom of others. Therefore, we prohibit the physical or virtual disruption, shouting down, blocking or suppressing of a protest, demonstration, program or event. Disruptions of this nature will result in removal from the event. These include but are not limited to the following:

|
- Deliberately blocking the audience’s view of the speaker or presenter.
- In-person or virtual shouting down or producing noise with the intent to prevent the speaker or presenter from being heard.
- Intentional distraction through use of alarms, phones, lights, pointers, etc.
- Creating in-person or virtual barriers to entry or access to the event.
- Destructive or disorderly conduct.
- Inciting violence, intimidating or threatening others.

In addition to the Unified Commencement Ceremony, graduates are invited to the ceremony of the school awarding their degree. At these ceremonies, graduates' names are called to cross the stage individually. Please note that some schools have separate ceremonies for undergraduate and graduate degree candidates.
