On Saturday, April 23, Crawfest returns live for the first time in two years, bringing joy and excitement to the Tulane community. The festival is the one of the largest entirely student-run events in the country, offering a day of live music, arts and of course, tons of crawfish, to festivalgoers. In addition to crawfish, an array of other food from some of New Orleans’ top restaurants will be available, including vegan and gluten-free options.

The festival will be held on the Berger Family Lawn from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The music kicks off with Sasha Salk, a class of 2020 graduate, at 11:30 a.m., followed by The Soul Rebels on the main stage at 12:15 p.m. The lineup also includes Dar Macar, Hans Williams, George Porter Jr. & the Runnin’ Pardners, Water Seed, Jon Cleary & the Absolute Monster Gentlemen and concludes with headliner Dumpstaphunk at 5:30 p.m.

Crawfest weekend will coincide with the graduating class of 2020’s return to campus for their COVID-19-postponed Commencement, which will be held at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse on Friday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. This will give the class of 2020 the opportunity to experience both their postponed commencement and a signature student event that was canceled due to the pandemic. Tulane will adhere to all state and local mandates that are in effect on this year’s festival date.

Graduates from the class of 2020 and their guests will receive free Crawfest tickets directly from the Commencement Committee. Current Tulane students can reserve a free ticket and all other members of the Tulane community may purchase a ticket for $25. Tickets are available here.

Anyone wishing to volunteer for the event should go to the Crawfest website and fill out the volunteer form. Volunteers will receive free food and beverages as well as a Crawfest volunteer t-shirt. For questions email crawfest@Tulane.edu.
